Moslem Hosseininejad, Ph.D., P.Eng.
Moslem Hosseininejad is a professional engineer and research scholar with over 15 years of experience in industry and academic research. Moslem has spent most of his professional career conducting reservoir modelling and numerical simulations, optimizing recovery techniques in many different types of reservoirs and processes. Moslem has profound knowledge and background of reservoir engineering as well as direct experience in designing and optimizing numerous EOR projects in operating companies.
As reservoir lead for conventional assets in Harvest Operation Corp., Moslem built comprehensive models for evaluation of primary and waterflood recovery methods in sandstone and carbonate assets. He identified opportunities for improving existing waterfloods and designed waterflood for assets with only primary production. Future drills and injector conversions were all identified using his modelling work. Moslem has also designed core flood and PVT tests for better understanding of these reservoirs given his experimental background. Additionally, he was involved in well and hydraulic fracture optimization work in Montney reservoir. During the time at Harvest, Moslem was a key member of BlackGold SAGD project where he was in charge of simulation history matching of pilot well as type curve generation for development phase. Before Harvest, Moslem was with Laricina Energy Ltd., where he was a part of a team demonstrating thermal recovery of bitumen from carbonate rocks for the first time in the world. He was involved in design, start up, and operation of first CSS-SAGD pilot in Grosmont carbonate reservoir, where he had to model and forecast thermal processes in a fracture vuggy porous media and was also sitting on daily operation of Saleski Pilot. During years prior to Laricina, Moslem has worked on well testing techniques of gas condensate reservoirs, foamy oil flow modelling, and experimental evaluation of solvent co-injection with steam for enhancing SAGD process.
Moslem holds Ph.D. and M.Eng. in Petroleum Engineering from University of Calgary, and M.Sc. and B.Sc in Reservoir Engineering from Petroleum University of Technology in Iran.
